Difference between live.com results and msn.com

    Hey guys wonder if anyone knows why
    I have a site that ranks on page one of msn.com.au but is no where to be found on msn.com. Does anyone know why. I have a theory that if i had an American server i would rank well on msn.com as i have an australian host and rank well on australian version of msn....

    It depends on the region wise results , the results will vary for a .au domain

    .au
    .uk
    .co.in

    and Live results represent the world wide Msn

    I think this is not a strange thing at least. msn.com and msn.com.au have different datacenters, so your website was only indexed by msn.com.au datacenters.

    To get indexed by msn.com, you'd better get links from international websites, not those only focus on Australia.

    Are your backlinks only from Australia ?

    I would say the results are geo-targetted not according to the backlinks but to the IP of the searcher (and yes you may be good on .au because of your australian server).

    For my main KW my site is not listed in the top 100, but in Live i got a 2nd position, it is a little wierd, isn't it.

    Yes, I found out also that this is quite strange ranking between msn.com and live.com .

    Different algorithms?
