Difference between linux and windows web hosting

    What is the difference between linux and windows web hosting? Which one is good?

    Nobody can tell you who the best host is. Its your choice and everyone has different opinions. To me linux is the best choice, you have more options.

    Can't say which is good it depends on your preferences and applications.

    1. Windows run on IIS 6 , it is best for those using ASP ASPX and MS SQL
    2. Linux on Apache, best for LAMP (Linux Apache MySQL PHP)

    So depending on your requirements, you get the ones you need.

    Best web hosting, there is nothing called best web hosting. The hosting that is most suited to your requirements is the best web hosting to you. Just remember, estimate your needs, don't go for blatant oversellers.

    90% of webhosts use LINUX. I personally like linux better than windows.

    Windows hosting is useful in the case where you have your own Windows VPS or Windows Dedicated server. You can logon to these using remote desktop and use them like you use your Windows PC.
    It won't make any real difference to you if you have shared hosting
