Difference between jpg and jpeg files

    Recenly read some article that jpg and jped are not same.
    Can somebosy tell more on this

    Well, there is a difference in that Windows (Vista) handles them differently. If you have a "folder.jpg" image in a folder, then it will display it on the folder if you view in icon mode. If it is folder.jpeg then it will not.

    Not true. The image will be shown in the icon view mode whether it's a .jpg or .jpeg.

    @osmasters - jpg and jpeg file formats are just the same. All this confusion is because older DOS-based computers were designed to handle a maximum of "3-character file extension". But newer OS such as Windows XP and Vista allow for longer file extensions such as the case of ".html" where older DOS system will only see it as ".htm".

    As far as i know, jpg and jpeg are both the same.
