Google Trends: With the help of Google trends we can compare two topics or two keywords how often they’ve been searched on Google all over the world. We can compare 5 keywords together in Google trends.Google Trends also shows how frequently your topics have appeared in Google News stories. We can also compare two topics in particular region & a particular year.

It also shows that in which regions, cities, languages which keyword is most popular.

Google Insights: The Google Insights let you see what people are searching for.
    It has 3 options:

    1) Search terms
    2) Locations
    3) Time Ranges

Search terms: From this option we can see which term search most & We can also compare multiple terms. Like if we want to compare bet ween data recovery & data recovery software that which keyword search most than we can compare this by using this tool.

Locations: In this option we can see searches for a particular location.

Time Ranges: In this option we can see searches for a particular time. If we want to see searches for a particular term in 2010 than we can also see it in Google insights.

It also shows top searches terms & Rising search.

Google Trends shows the search trend for a keyword over time and Google Insight is more concentrated towards the amount of time those keywords are used and searched across the world.

Trends gives you some data but no where near as much as you get with the Insight tool. Insight now shows you not only the same information but the keywords and most importantly the rising searches from within that topic.
