Difference between google.com and adwords?

    When we check rank of our websites on google.com, it shows different results from when we check it on adwords.google.com. Why?

    google.com shows organic search results. if you search on adowrds site, it will show the sponsored results for which advertisers are paying google.

    According to this rule my site must be showing on high rank on adwords than on google.com. But it is not so with my site. It can be seen on low rank on adwords than on google.com. Can you make me clear please?

    google.com is search engine and adword is pvt adv.
