Difference between Directory Submission & Blog Commenting?

What is the difference between Directory Submission & Blog Commenting? Which technique is better?

 

In my opinion the recommended one would be directory submission. I believe that it takes less time and blog commenting.
And from what i have experienced i would say that blog commenting it's not the same like it had been before. Nowadays most of the webmasters are using nofollow attribute in the comments due to the fact there is a lot of spam.
Through directory submission you can find lots of great and quality directories that can provide dofollow links, and that is the entire thing. To get quality dofollow links.

Both has its own importance. According to me directory submission has its own importance and blog commenting has its own. Both of them provide dofollow and no follow backlinks.
but directory submission is more laborious task in comparison of commenting.
