Difference Between Directory and Bookmarking

    I m new in search engine optimization field. Can anybody suggest me what is the difference between directory and bookmarking......? anyone plz tell me detail......:cool:

    directory is a web directory where you submit your link, bookmarking is social bookmarking where you submit your pages to be "voted" for by others (i.e. digg.com)

    Directories mainly use for making links but Bookmarking purpose to store your page or book mark a particular page of website.

    Directories and bookmarking are different things directory is mainly provide good backlinks and bookmarking provide traffic as well as backlinks.
