Blogroll is the list of other blogs or links in your blog and blogspot is the place where we create free blogs.

blogroll is a segment in WP where you can put external link towards other website while blogpost is just another post from a blog site. :)

More like he asked two questions at the same time.

The first question everyone already answered.
The second, i think they are the same.

    Blog roll is link list
Blog post is article / post

Blogpost is better if the inner page have same or higher PR compare to home page
    Else, choose blogroll

Blog Roll means rolling of blogs, these links would get multiplied over the time while plogpost is a post of blog which is posted by us for blogging.

ok since nobody has actually answered, here goes:

a blogroll link is the best backlink - it is site wide so carries the PR of every page it is on, in particular the homepage
a blog post is just one link on a page that often gets buried. if the content is not unique i have found that old blog posts even get de-indexed, so if you choose this method ensure the content is GOOD.

    hope this helps

@northernweb - In my opinion we cant actually decide which link is quality just by knowing whether its blogroll or blogpost link.
It depends on the sites content, total outbound links, total incoming links.
Blogroll links are good for getting many links, but you should also be conscious about link growth rate.
Getting links from high PR blog's blog post is very much valued provided you have your links surrounded with relevant keywords.
