Difference between 2 sites!

Hi guys!!
I wondered whether you'd be able to compare 2 different sites that are similar to each other and comment on which has the better features, usability, layout and the overall feel of the sites.

I like the first one. Clear design and nice colors game.

The second one looks like a web directory at the first sight ;-)

 

I liked the layouts of both of them. Nice layout and nice colors for that ecamp site.

And nice blending in that ukcampsite.

My first impression ... ukcampsite.com is 10 times better!!! The first one looks like it barely has any content. It's had to take it seriously.

The map on ukcampsite.com is a great feature. It allows users to quiclky search for camp related topics according to location. Instead of having them read throught navigation text.

 

Both are okay, quite easy to navigate, good colors etc. but I would go for ukcampsite

 

Take another look at ecampsite.co.uk , ive spent a while updating it just now, with new maps!!! I like them a lot more! hope you do too!

 

Ok good so far. Please add alt tags to the feature icon. I couldn't figure out what some of the symbols meant.

 

hey sseo, i have!! But i realised in some browsers the alt tag doesnt display, so you can click the words, "facilities", "services" and "leisure" and a popup will tell you the icons and what they mean. does the title tag work cross browser???

 

Same Here. Very Good Layouts and colors.

 

I prefer the UK Campsite better. You get right to the point on the first page. I didn't have to fish around trying to find out information. By putting your links front and center you are making it easier to navigate which is paramount on a website. The main page is just for introductions...the important stuff is deeper into the site. The better the navigation, the more likely you'll have return visitors.

 

I find the 2nd site much better

 

The ecampsite has a nicer design, you just need to fill up the content on the main page a little.

www.ecampsite.co.uk -- good layout

 

I think UK Campsite looks better on the home page, it's a bit busy but I can see lots of categories to click on so that I can immediately drill down to what I'm looking for. I think their site looks just that little bit more professional, although I don't think there's an awful lot between them.

One suggestion: make the top banner/logo link back to the home page, that's the behaviour most people expect even if there's a home page link somewhere else as well.

 

Here's a slight tweak on my previous design that I showed you, is it better???

I really, really like this one, and it is a lot more stable.

Ok gone with what I think is a lot better design, it is also more accesible, i.e, can change all the font size, incorporates Access Keys etc.
