    Yes you lucky sod. :D

    Don't rub it in.

Fantastic country over there, traveled it extensively. Miss the scenery a great deal, the sense of space and dare I say it, the Californians, but not the Oregonians. Oh and Idaho - blimey!:D

I'd think you'd love Oregon. Just like home...not spot of sun and they do love their suds.

The fine people here would be hurt. Of course, I only come here in the summers, like any sane person.

    Biodiesel: $4.99/gallon at Sequential biofuels. E85 $3.29

    Read 'em and weep!

    I can't believe we're starting to cheer every time it's below $5.

20% increase in price this year. That's runaway inflation.

I thought Europe was smarter than us Yanks. Why the heck are you still using diesel and petrol? I swear I thought it would be Germany or Japan that would have been the leaders in alternative fuels and every car in Europe would be running on hydrogen by now.

Stop letting the U.S. drag you down England. Fight the power. Rebel. It worked for us.

America went to war to ensure that oil was still paid for in Dollars, several decades ago the Dollar was linked to oil when the USA said to the arab states 'we will protect you if you sell oil in dollars' in the worlds biggest example of blackmail and extortion.

Oil is one of the few things supporting the dollars real value, if you remove that then suddenly it is worth a lot less.

That is why when Afghanistan, Iraq and Iran (In that order) decided to sell oil in Euros because they were rising in value, after that they were no longer 'protected' by the US.

The actual contracts offering protection to the Arab states can actually be viewed, it's pretty interesting.

Oil is rising in price because teh oil producing companies are rising their prices above inflation to make up for teh Dollars devaluing, its a catch 22 cycle thats only really goign to slow down when America starts drilling for oil in its own lands more agressivly :)
