One very popular method is to start a wordpress blog and regularly post articles, after few months your wordpress blog will gain some PR. You can use the blog and get 3 way backlinks from similar Pr websites.
What i did notice today is that all of my internal pages were re-cached today for my website, however homepage still stuck on the 16th Dec 2010. Also have noticed the number of visitors has increased rapidly over the last week or so. My earnings from affiliate marketing this month should be around £2000.
There was a minor update I guess. Some of my sites get PRs but for high PR sites there is no changes. Still waiting.
