The New York Times reports that Google's AdSense pays Web publishers 78.5 cents on the dollar. (Thanks Problogger). My question: Do all publishers get the same rate? I've been told that big publishers get rates like that, while small fry get one quarter as much. Anyone know? Here is the Full Story
It is economical sense, big players have more choice, google have to match and better such choices, while small players can only stick to adsense.
This information has been out for a long time but every other week someone else asks what percentage Google pays out. I don't think being smartpriced means you'll get a smaller percentage of payout, just the cost advertisers pay when someone clicks an ad on your site is less.
Adsense has the option to display a blank image or alternative ads if no ads are available. The same needs to be done for smart pricing. If they are going to dish out smart priced ads, then give us the option to display something in place of these smart priced ads.
It can't be true, I usually get 0,001 up to 0,3 $ per click. I know that my friends invest fortune to AdWords, all of them pay 0,5 up to 1 $ per click. Sometimes I get even 2$ per click but I believe that its a random "bonus" just to make me happy and make me think that I usually get much
i thought google pays lot less than that for which they don;t like to talk about it. still kinda doubt about 78% payouts as google has big expenses. they spend millions fighting click frauds and other scams. so if the number is 78% of net profit, then could make more sense.
I'm interested if those figure's are for every publisher also, can't help but think it may be smaller for us small frys
Seems about right...when compared to other ad networks that advertise a 50-60% payout... and G is paying 2-3-4 times what they pay...
Seems about right, I was thinking in that range. Some people will get less, usually the ones who have got red flags in there account. Big people will obviously want more if they are premium publishers. Personally affiliate marketing is the way to go. Usually always pays more, but is slightly harder work. But I always like the feeling of someone visiting my site and clicking a link.
