Lot of people at some point get banned etc by Google for many reasons. Like to share, why, how did you overcome this?

If you're banned from adsense and you have a high traffic site, there is no problem. You can sell ads to other sites. But, if you are banned from google search engine, that's really bad.

Minimize or avoid black hat techniques, Google's algo changes everytime so watch out before being banned.

I had one step towards that. I put about 50 keyword links on home page. I didn't know its legit. Later somebody at DP pointed out that. Glad I removed it.

I am sorry for you. Hope things get back normal to you.

Traffic from Google for my site actually increased about 5 times this month. My site is news, I don't get much yet. Some people get thousands from Google, I am sure its not good for them at all.

I know you didnt mean nightmare like a dream but, today I had a real Google nightmare.

In my dream there was Matt Cutts. He was giving some kind of crappy conference or something. He was talking with his irritating stupid style (he irritates me when he talks his natural style). I was continously checking for the PR update on my PC. I was checking Alexa rating, then SERPs, then looking at the green bar.

It was a nightmare. I am glad it is over.

But now we face the real life nightmare. A real Matt Cutts and an update that refuses to happen..

And oh yes. One of my friend got -30 SERP penalty for wrongly duplicating some pages. He decided to change the filenames of all pages into a more SEO friendly way. But also left the old pages for the people who bookmarked them. Yes it was a mistake but for me, it was not as bad as to be judged with -30 SERP penalty. Months later Google decided to put him off the hook..

Maybe lots of people do, but not most. It's never happened to me - with any of my sites. :)

I had a Digg nightmare the other day... twice in a row. It woke me up both times.

I know most people won't know wth I'm talking about, but I wrote a blog post about Digg employees stalking me, and I went to bed afraid that someone might actually submit the post to Digg, and it go popular while I was sleeping (I wrote the post late at night, just before I went to bed). If that happened, and I didn't have wp-cache turned on, it would probably have brought down the server. Even though I knew that the story would probably get censored by Digg employees (which is exactly what happened when it did get submitted the next day), I still had that thought in my mind when I laid down.

So twice I woke up, freaking out because I was dreaming that the story was about to go popular and I couldn't get to the computer fast enough to turn on the cache. :D

Some say that I spend way too much time online. They might have a point.
