Did the World Cup affect the traffic of your site?

I found the traffic in the recent week dropped significently. And the click rate also dropped. I wonder if it was because of World Cup. Did the World Cup affect the traffic of your site?

 

I got some big surges on the days of England matches - but my blog is about football so its to be expected!

 

Yes, i will say yes because my niche is more on manufacturing and business
However, for the soccer niche, then sure it will increase

 

didn't notice any difference for my travel sites.

 

My site isn't about football but I reached a record the past two days for high unique visits.

 

I also did not see any difference in my health sites.

 

World cup did not affect on my site traffic...

 

I think that if ESPN didn't have a contract to show the World Cup on their channel than most people would have made so much money if they have a World Cup streaming site or something affiliated to the World Cup.

It couldn't help me as my websites are not relating to soccer or sports.

 

one of my site lost a huge number of traffic and my one streaming site gets lakhs of unique visits.

 

i spoke to some friends and for most of them the world cup did reduce the traffic to their sites!! ...for me the same

 

I have seen a huge increase in traffic for the site in my signature for obvious reasons
