Did someone sabotage my URL?

For some reason, about a week ago, my web site COMPLETELY disappeared from the Google search rankings for keywords that before it was easily and number one for. (In fact, I can't find my site using ANY key words now.) My site isn't even a business and I'm not competing with anyone, so it's not like my competitors got really savvy all of a sudden. MY site simply disappeared. I have reason to believe, however, that people who don't like what I do may have "sabotaged" it. Is this possible? I know there are ways to remove URL's from the cache but I am not sure how someone would come up with an excuse that would fit within the criteria.

Any ideas what may have happened? I resubmitted my site to google.

This may be occurring on other search engines, too, but I was never checking my ranking on there so I wouldn't really know.

    Any thoughts would be appreciated.

    Hi ariese. welcome.

There have been quite a few reports of this type across the SEO/Webmaster boards in that past few days. The best advice at the moment is to have a bit of patience as on occasion Sergey does burp and upset tings a bit.

And I really don't mean to be to flippant, but sometimes Google get somewhat flummoxed and appears to do things that then straightens out within a few days. So, for right now, don't do anything drastic, just sit and wait, but while you do, run through a complete "health check"of your site just to be sure you haven't inadvertently gone beyond G's guidelines.

Its possible if they submitted your site at Google for selling/buying text links.

If you havent done that and your site is not breaking Googles guidelines in anyway then you should get a reinclusion request granted. Though it can take weeks for that to happen.

In addition this can just be a normal glitch that happens (just give it time and it will come back).

Also if you site is new then its normal to see that and results will just pop back in.

Web-site can dissapear in Google ranking for certain key-words, my web-site was ranked #2 for a certain phaze, then dissapeared, after reading your words, I checked to see if it's back on first page and now I see it at #1.

First check that you can find your domain name in a google search. This should tell you if your site has been excluded from Google.

If you can find your domain on a google search then as others have said its a 'google dance' One of my sites dropped about 100 places last year, it took 2 weeks for it to return to its normal serps.

Good luck and hopefully it will return soon.

Is your site hosted on a shared hosting server ? Google can ban whole server from listing. Maybe some of websites made google to ban the whole server

make sure you don't have too many keywords that are repetative on each page... aka in the meta tags dont put the same keyword more than twice.. sometimes google picks on up on this and marks your page as spam. if you have been buying traffic or backlinks, google may have found you and blacklisted you for a while.

i'm not sure how well google will respond if you email them, its a pretty automated system. make sure you don't have any invisible text in your pages either, google will mark this as spam too
