I have been using namecheap for a while, and I never had any problems. I am not sure.

Did you check to see if the payment was actually sent out?

Nominet (the UK domain registry) is going through some upgrades at the moment and are taking much longer than usual to respond to registration requests. I am a UK domain tag holder (registrar) myself, and it took more than an hour to register a .co.uk domain yesterday. I imagine you're registration will go through, just give it some time :).

    I'd say wait . . . as norfstar suggested.

If it never shows up it might mean that someone else may have already registered it.

In that case Namecheap will refund your money.

check your email - they should email you if u have problems, or check your namecheap funds, if that $8 or $9 is back that means the checkout never went through, i've never had trouble with namecheap and i've registered countless number of domains from them

I have used them for a long time, if your domain registration goes through, you will be able to check on their site or check to see if you receive an email reply. If it is unsuccessful, they will not charge your credit card or existing credit in namecheap. Not to worry as they have been honest about this.

    So...did Namecheap scam me!?

Or do people find it conveniently easier to blame and outright label a company
a scammer, ambulance chaser, drug peddler, etc. without giving a reasonable
amount of time for issues to resolve in a timely manner?

Im with Dave, would have been much simpler to name the thread,
".co.uk registration delays?" rather then accusing a company of scamming when you hadn't even waited 45mins...
