UK hosting can be more expensive than pricing we see from the States or other places. If these guys are the actual host and not a reseller then it an ok price, depending on the plan they got.

I just personally thought it was too expensive, since i have hosted endtoenders.com for free for the last 3-4 months. I think that the amount of space is a rip off.

    www.statichost.co.uk

I have a large reseller with them and they are great. I reacon from the size of penwithmusiccentre, it is only the smallest package.

Way too cheap for an education or business site to be hosted on. If I was the person to look after their website I wouldnt risk placing it on a cheap service like this - I am not saying that Statichost is bad, I just could not place trust in such a cheap service.

Actually thanks for the link, I might test these guys out with a few personal sites.

    No need.

www.flash.vg is hosted with them. If you go over bandwidth, like i did, you get charged something like $.75/1gb Who can argue with that?

Indeed and the servers are actually located in the UK
    http://www.digitalpoint.com/tools/website-country/?ip=www.penwithmusiccentre.co.uk

An educational institution wants to make sure their needs are met up front. They aren't going to go with a company they can't call on the phone and talk to, etc

I bet they actually went with that host after the host called them ;) The only times I made money when I was hosting sites was when I cold called all day long and got the more high maintenence, high value accounts.

PS. Static Host - The one you like - has their servers with The Planet in Texas ;)

Not that I mind that for my U.S. focused sites. I am starting to use an all Irish host for my closer to home sites ;)
