He probably found it on a SE, fryman. Be careful, ronmojohny! You don't want to piss off Buzz Aldrin! http://www.csicop.org/articles/20021018-aldrin/
I particularly like this point: Soviet Union - First manmade satellite in earth orbit... First man in space... First man to orbit the earth... First woman in space... The first crew of three astronauts onboard one spacecraft... The first space walk... The first of two orbiting spacecraft rendezvousing... This put America at a perceived military disadvantage in missile technology during the very height of the Cold War. And than, one day, Americans go fly to the moon and back Oh and wouldn't the Russians have at least sent someone to the moon by now? It is funny how the technology back than was able to achieve a moon landing and a trip back, while today's technology fails to bring austronats safely from the space station - think Columbia space shuttle. I could go on....
DP is one huge secret. In a few years you will all be on the news and "they" will say it was all a conspiracy.
I hope you're joking, ronmojohnny. The problem is that many people who post such things aren't joking. The capacity of people to believe in thoroughly ludicrous and blatantly stupid conspiracy theories never ceases to amaze me.
Yes meflan, I have too seen it around an year back...Actually I have a recorded FOX TV Channel presentation of that.... If you see that video, you would start having second thoughts of "If man did really land on the moon?" Some say that the video presentation itself is a hoax.... Dunno which to believe........
One of the great Aussie movies is called "The Dish" funny as, about Australia's minor role (covering the actual landing) from a satellite dish in a country town called 'Parkes'. I am happy to go with Neil landing on the moon as truth... we bullshit-ed NASA enough in the process of covering it know it was for real!!! "Nice girl, but..." "You bullshitted NASA!!!?" Great movie... anyone seen 'The Dish'?
Just keep in mind people that a big percent of our national Budget is being eaten by every conducted exploration.
No it's not. The national budget of the United States this year is $1.862 trillion. NASA as a whole only gets $16 Billion. That equates to less than 1% of national budget. It's actually 0.86%. Sources: NASA Budget Page NASA 2004 Budget Request(PDF) CIA World Factbook
Idk. But when NASA first started sending up astronauts, they quickly discovered that ball point pens would not work in zero gravity. To combat the problem, NASA scientists spent a decade and $12 Million to develop a pen that writes in zero gravity, upside down, underwater, on almost any surface including glass and at temperatures ranging from below freezing to 300C... The Russians used a pencil. True story, btw. HAR HAR.
When I read that some time ago, I just laughed and thought about the eggheads that worked on that pen. Sometimes scientists are just so high up in the clouds, that simple solutions don't seem possible.
About a year ago there was a documentary on swedish television about the "Conspiracy 58", arguing the case that the Soccer world champ's were not played in sweden in 1958. They showed a lot of evidence, pictures with buildings in the background that has never been seen in any of the towns they claimed that matches were played in, pictures where the shadows don't match the time when matches were played etc, etc. They also had intervues with a lot of famous people, both players and spectators, some supporting the conspiracy theory and some protesting (among them the head of FIFA, Lennart Johansson). The final touch is that the end credits reveals the whole film as a hoax, made only to show how easy it is to manipulate "evidence". ps. don't know if this been mentioned before in this thread havn't read all pages. ps2. Here's a qoute I just love, related to internet and hoaxes.
