Depends which software you are more comfortable with.

I found vBulletin less intuitive than invision and with limited skins and graphics.

well i will tell u why i am choosing it because i have seen some biggest boards with ipb and i know same thing to vb but there is something let me feel more confortable with ipb because they did support me while i am not a licensed member and what they will do if i am licensed member???

and there is some good skins out there and great great mods and i think its great cause i saw some sites working better than the ipsbeyond site like invisionize and others many sites made a support for ipb boards and they are really well known and free no need to pay for anything its not the reason but the reason is the look of the new ipb board it let me go for it the ipb 2.2.2 its awsem specially the profile thingy i am sure members will like it and i asked my members about choosing a board between vbulletin and invision power board most of them said invision power board thats why maybe i am going for it since my license will expire of vbulletin license.

and the main reason that i do want to change to invision power board because the vbulletin suspended my hosting and my license for a while. because i used a skin that i did install but not for any reason i installed it to change the look of it cause i am not a good coder though so i installed it to change colors and buttons to let it be my own theme and they suspended for that thing i do hate suspending so that i will go for invision power board since they dont do anything and there is a great support out there and great skins and useful mods ;)

I THINK I AM RIGHT WITH MY CHOICE :)

If you're comfortable with it, and your users are happy, then yes, you made the right choice.

I know a 50K+ member board running quite well on phpBB, because it works for them!

If you are changing because Vbulletin is costly, I will suggest Phpbb, its free and really good. :)

    Does phpbb have ads?
Kinda jumping in this thread cos I want a new forum but don't know what's best, but I don't want ads.
Is the support of the other boards worth the money?

Yeah, stick with vBulletin. It's the best all-around forum software, especially for bigger forums.

The only problem with using vBulletin is that your forum will look exactly like all the other forums using that script. Invision has proven to be a great forum script and I’m sure that if you choose to switch it won’t be a bad choice.

Stay away from PHPbb ... it has too many security issues, and makes it really time consuming to ban users and moderate threads... VB is much better - I don't know about Invision but I suppose it's pretty good because some busy forums which are exposed potentially to lots of spam such as mobile9 use it

vBulletin is definately the best option out there, however like others have said if you are more comfortable with another platform and it can still fit what you need then go with it - chances are your users wont be out off it's vb or ipb but personally I still stand by what I first said and that is that vBulletin is the better of the two :)
