Did Google SiteMap Cause No Cache On Home Page??

Discussion in 'Google Sitemaps' started by VegasMack, May 27, 2006.

Well here is a mind blower.

I have NOT updated my Google SiteMap for www.vegas4sale.net in a couple of months since I was overhauling the entire site.

    Yesterday, I finally did.

This morning my home page has NO CACHE.

    Anyone have any ideas?

    Thanks,

Nope, but this only verifies my theory about NOT using sitemaps! They screw up your site in the SERPS!!!! I'll never use any sitemaps anymore!!

It is definitely starting to worry me.

Still no cache today for the Hope Page and only 118 interior pages cached.

I wonder if it is just a question of data lagging behind from resubmitting the sitemap or a genuine glitch?

It was cached prior to rebuilding and resubmitting the new sitemap.

UPDATE: My site was cached last Friday.

In looking at pages indexed the url with www was not listed and the url w/o the www was listed.

I made no changes to the site or sitemap yet it is now cached.

Was this a problem with URL Canonicalization maybe?

i have noticed similar issues with sites being cached or listed without the www and then the next day with the www. i have not been able to determine why it is changed from day to day
