Good humor. Of course Google has helped the 'net. For the longest time by far the best, most relevant search results. Even now the best or close to it. New sites will sprout from DPers and anywhere regardless of whether there is a Google or not.
I think google is the one who corrects the internet not ruining it.. During the times without Google the internet is full of junks not after the Google Rule.... The junks almost diminished someone are trying to ruined internet by certainly not Google...
I def think your right about adsense and junk pages but as long as google doesn't ruin it self by going too far with adsense results then they will do fine
That holds about as much merit as saying Microsoft ruined the internet because they invented the computer. You want to know who "ruined" the internet so to speak? Spammers
if u like google and there products they help u lot if u search for alternatives then u find hard to earn.
now with Google Radio ads. This is just getting crazy. It great they let the common man advertise but it really seems like they are floating their own boat somehow. They are just so vast it is hard to get my mind around.
I think google, by far, is the best search engine... it gives the most relevant searches and its the only one I get traffic from.
AdSense should implement a filter system in which employees screen each and every site that ads display on for quality. If it's auto-generated, MFA, a "niche" trash site, or other useless crap, they should permanently ban the domain from joining the network. A democratically-elected review committee under ICANN should also have access to a "kill button" to destroy trash pages. I don't think any extreme action is be necessary to preserve the usefulness of the Web, however. These junk sites may eventually be crushed under their own weight.
well they might not have ruined it but they sure ruined my free tutoring site. do you know how hard it is to find an affiliate for chemistry tutoring
I ageee to some extent that "google adsense" makes it easier for spammers to generate revenues, but affiliate programs would take over if adsense died. so in answer to your question, the junk would still be here.
I think google made the internet a lot better. It came out with some good products, and it's competitors copied, which is good because people who can't use it on google, can have alternatives. The bad thing I see about google now is alot of junk sites, when I search.
yeah the junk sites is what I was getting at. the net is just full of them. oh well. i often wonder are they trying to fix it or do they work like a perpetual motion machine , they want the junk, say they don't want it, and profit
Agreed in a lot of cases. Oftentimes when I do a search on Google, I go right to page five to start looking for anything worthwhile.
I am a website publisher, at a time when it is super cheap to publish websites. Of course, there is going to be junk on the net in such a situation. At one time, newspapers ruled the publishing world and there were plenty of junk newspapers, then magazines and then movies and then TV shows and then reality shows... My goal is to have a website empire of high quality and useful sites. Adsense and some affiliate programs are giving me a chance to earn enough money to make that happen. Quality websites take time to mature and need to be supported financially to survive. In the long run, Google will have helped foster a vast array of well-made and useful sites.
