Did Google just Admit your competitor can get you Penalized !!!!

What is your approach on trying to get out of this -50 Penalty ?

I am assuming this is a automatic filter that got applied to our sites because of our link profile ! !
So my plan is to build more relavant BLs and continue adding more content on my site and hope
that my link profile gets better and the automatic filter stops affecting my site.

What do you think about this !!
Since my PR went up for some pages of my penalized site, it seems that the -50 SERPs is a warning that
can be worked out of by following rules. So after this increase in PR, once the auto filter gets removed, our SERPs might be even better than before !!!

What are you guys doing about your sites?

Or just a Xmas witchhunt?
If it was automatic there would be ten more webmasters posting about how they were also affected.....but there aren't.

Sure I am trying to alter my link profile. But it seems more like the gates to a damn (damn dam) have been closed. Just waiting for G to press the button.
I reckon we are all in a - 50 sandbox.
Real question is why is are no new sites affected in 2008..... unless this was done manually

Its incredible that something someone else does can affect your business in this way, but search engines are desperate to fight the spam and many sites are getting caught up in the algorithms. Its impossible for Google to judge, and as they have a virtual monopoly on internet searches, its not right that they should de-index a site for off site black hat seo practices, because this offsite activity could be done by anyone anywhere in the world.

 

you just have to make sure that you're not linked to google's restricted sites. otherwise, your links are deemed useless. You are not penalized or punished it's just that the links for restricted site were not counted anymore as it used to be.

google does not penalized. this is expected if you have low quality links. that's why you have to get quality links. paid links are not good. get links that are permanent. if you do the other way around, your site will flunk in a couple of days.

 

Also, my adsense earnings got up to 40% lower than "normal".
