I have a content that become no. 3 in google for some days. But after 5 days, the position is dropped because of the same article with newer publishing date. Did Google consider a content as new and old in the SERP? Thanks for all
Wow, not a single one of the comments thus far on this thread help answer this guy's question. I'll give it a shot: Yes, one of the new pushes by search engines, especially Google, is to get as much fresh content out there as possible. This makes it a great time to become a blogger or article writer because if your content is timely, you will outrank a larger site with old stuff on it in many cases. One example was that when T.V. pitchman Billy Mays died I wrote an article about how he inspired me, and I was the #1 result for it for a whole week resulting in more unique visitors than I typically get in a year.
I don't think this would be the really reason for your drops in SERP. Google does have the capacity in judging who is original, IMO. Have a nice day,
real time search only applies to certain keyword phrases though. generally speaking, google will rank the page which it thinks is most important. it doesn't necessarily have to be the original article, but it usually is because its natural for the original source to gain more quality backlinks.
New content can usually rank near the top for a day or two, then Google re-rank the content, and bring it to the "permanent" position.
Thanks for your answer, actually I also don't know how Google judge the originality of a content. The other website that replace my position just using my content and rewrite it. Did the page rank of the website that publish a matter here? His PR is higher than mine actually, Thanks
