I'm wondering how y'all hard core coop users did with the PR update last Jan? Did you notice a boost and can you corelate it to coop?
co-op has not changed my PR - none of my sites, regardless of how much weight I put on it or how many BL it generates.
I find it odd that it had no effect on PR. Even though the links are not permanent, they count as backlinks and thus should have an impact on PR. A new PR0 site which only used the co-op for link building should attain some PR on the next update. How much PR would depend on some degree of luck in that it would depend on how many high PR sites your link is found on during each Google crawl.
I've made pages that have no other incoming links apart from what's from the coop, and they're PR5's..
wow disgust awesome... i wish i had the same such luck... unfortunately not yet... I have had a definite increase in bls but not pr as i used to be pr5 but last nov dropped to pr4 and since then havent been able to get back... :-(
I bought a site that is PR2 but had no backlinks at all. I submitted to lot's of directories and have many signature links around the web. However after a month still nothing from Google. J oined the coop and after a week Google showed 18 backlinks...for 2 days...now I am back to none . Yahoo show approx 800 and MSN 1400, very frustrating. Now I am receiving traffic from MSM, Yahoo and Goole in that order...any traffic is good .... but for terms that have no connection to my site . Much of it is traffic related to terms in the coop adds. Very frustrating, I guess patience is required.
Thats good to know, thanks for that. I was hoping someone had experience with only using the co-op without having obtained backlinks elsewhere aswell.
I had no PR change, but my backlinks throughout the search engines are climbing daily per the tool at www.marketleap.com In two months I have went from "average presence" to "player"
Not quite the boost as in knight rider but yes, some of my Co-op targeted pages went up in PR last time I checked.
i have a couple new sites with like 2 links from other sites i have (pr 4 and 5 on those pages) and they are very new ... PR 0. i guess i'll have to wait and see what type of impact it makes. i'm wondering if the dynamic nature of links contributes to PR, or if the links must be static ... something that will be there from crawl to crawl.
