All my fonts in Chrome look slightly different. More rounded. Smaller fonts (13px and down) look more defined. I first noticed it yesterday morning. Didn't take time to research it. I am sure they tweaked with their browser settings... or my laptop is hacked. One or the other.
Did you accidentally do that resize thing? Freaks me out when I do it because it's a pain to get right again.
I actually like what I see. The fonts are just slightly different, but they look more defined / solid. I cleared the history, checked if the zoom was right, restarted the laptop it's still showing the same font. I wonder if it takes time to propagate all other computers. Maybe you guys will see the changes in some near future too. By the way, my wife's Chrome and my Chrome are showing different things from time to time. For instance, Etsy and Ebay look different on her and my laptops. Go figure.
Even mine Chrome changed yesterday. The theme I had was removed. So, I applied a new theme but now I cant see the most visited website tabs.
You know I had similar problem until I found out that installing Helvetica for Photoshop is messing with Google Chrome. Especially on Facebook where I had crazy bold font. I deleted Helevtica font in Windows Font panel and now everything is back to normal. It is a shame because Helvetica is awesome font for designing. So you might have similar problem who knows...
So, I wasn't imagining anything. I like the new fonts. Makes everything look sharper. @AaronZ101 they do look a bit like the IE's fonts. Didn't think of that.
Chrome finally fixed their font rendering engine (which previously sucked flaccid cock) and now renders text nicely. It's a great joy to web devs
I noticed the same thing and it kind of freaked me out, since I was in the process of making changes to one of my blogs. I like the new look, and with what Helge Sverre says, it sounds like it is step in the right direction.
