Yes, I know Capcom has been hard at work on trillions of remakes, as well as movies, an Android app recently, and a ton of other rubbish, but why'd they ruin an otherwise good game (I meant RE9!) by showing these flashback scenes to the remake of RE2? Marvin. Kendo. Etc. I mean, I always believed the original games were the canonical efforts, which means certain stuff in the reimaginings should have simply never occurred. Although this is gradually making modest sense to me. It's really because of the awful "There are too many Chiefs - not enough Indians" approach from the devs, that has sadly now rendered the classic era a possible bygone thing. Yeah. The RE Engine era has succeeded the other time periods, and we know the franchise got its start in 1996. But to me, it's looking more like Capcom is aiming to discourage fans from bothering any more with the old games, with these retconning tactics that people on Reddit have been heavily debating. They've even kind of resorted to saying that no-one ought to play the older games, as they are outdated. Or to be more specific, why would you want to with the glossy updated versions? Seriously. That was their choice of words. But it feels contradictory, plus a slap in the face. It's as if the older lore needs to be moved aside, or put to bed. You know?
