The #1 product in games right now is a Flight Simulator... what?

    When did this happen?

    Do these actually sell?

Its funny when an entire niche just passes you by. Not my thing at all but still you've got to wonder how they can hit over 100 gravity and I havent heard of it at all!

haha, i checked the statistic about that product. that product does sell but it has high refund rate. approx 25%. but i never considered gaming niche to be profitable. i don't know, i could be wrong.

maybe, i just don't know how to sell game niche, especially game guides. i think gamers are interested more in buying games, but those world of warcrafts in clickbank do well, zygor world of warcraft and dugy world of warcraft.

The guides you mentioned do well because they are actual software add-ons to games that guide players, not just some dumb ebook that is probably outdated.

However I'm really curious if the refund rate claim of 25% is correct. If so, the effort is really not worth it. The flight simulator niche does have 2 million+ searches in google.

You mean you haven't been bombarded w/ flightsim ads on facebook? I've been seeing about a dozen different flightsim ads on facebook every day for months. I must be in a weird demographic that likes flightsim games.

I promoted it for a little while on facebook and did pretty well. But facebook has been doing crappy for me since the holidays so I've put flightsim on the backburner for now.

Oh by the way - you can't tell a products refund rate by looking at any of the stats they show you in the clickbank marketplace. Only the vendor knows the true refund rate, and of course whoever the vendor decides to tell. You may see a RFD % - but that is the "referred" percentage, not refund. I sold a few dozen and didn't receive a refund.

I didn't have any success with world of warcrafts products too.
I'm of the opinion that gamers want games not the how-to gaming guides.

I think it's like the chicken coops of 2009, how the hell like 5+ products reached over 100 gravity selling freaking chicken coops, I'll never know.

Since i know clickbank for years i was initially suprised
to see a flight simulator being sold on the marketplace.
The simple reason being that 99.9999% products on clickbank are crap
and no self respecting company with an ability to create a complex product such as flight simulator would actually work with clickbank.
Add to this the fact that the ladning page to the proflightsimulator looks like your
average every day typical low grade CB product.
So i did some searching and found this:
    http://wiki.flightgear.org/index.php/ProFlightSimulator
now all the pieces fall into place....

"ProFlightSimulator is a commercial product very heavily based on FlightGear. Investigation by a number of the FlightGear developers has found no difference between this and the FlightGear v1.9.1 release other than a change of name. ProFlightSimulator is in no way endorsed or supported by the core FlightGear development team. "
So basically these guys took FlightGear v1.91 which is an open source free software using the GPU license(free for all with no rights),
recompilied the source code only changing the name from flightgear to "PROFLIGHTSIMULATOR" and then marketed this as a product on clickbank.
Now thats the clickbank i know! ;)

    Hey,

I can answer this having just launched a World of Warcraft gold guide.

More than buying games - gamers are looking to be the BEST at the game that is why these guides sell so well.

For instance the guide I have just launched has conversions of 1 in 20 and higher - why would people buy a guide to learn how to make gold in WOW?

Well because it can take time - it is not so much that it is difficult but the time spent playing can be hours and hours and if they get a few awesome strategies they will easily be able to afford the best items, gear and weapons in the game.

This may not make a lot of sense if you have never played the game but the fact is there is HUGE money there!

Let me know if you want any pointers if you want to give it a go?

    All the best

    Chris

Gamers are obsessive especially MMO online gamers, anything they can do to be 'LEET' they will do even spend money, hell there are even people who sell their gaming accounts with their character already max leveled, it is insane!!

I have played these games and thought about getting into that niche but it seems too competitive.

Nice job promoting your product right there.

Feels like this whole niche of semi-games and game-addons is just another fad.

After reviewing the top WoW guides it does appear to make sense why they sell. There is a problem -- how do you level up fast, because you're spending money every month? You provide the solution of a guide.
