Some great discussion goin on here about the kinds of hoops you have to jump through once Google penalizes your site: http://www.seo-scoop.com/2008/01/24/matt-cutts-why-am-i-still-being-punished/ Graywolf (Michael Gray) does a great followup here: http://www.wolf-howl.com/google/prisoners-of-war-in-the-battle-for-paid-links/ Well worth the read. Matt Cutts is involved in the discussion too. What have you guys had to do to try and please the Google Gods lately? Anyone else trying to get their sites reconsidered for either a ranking penalty, a PageRank reduction, or from being banned? -Michael
Your question is moot. Everybody has to kiss Google's ass all the time. That's why it is called the God of the internet.
Thanks for giving info on Michael Gray's follow-up. I read Donna's post yesterday and liked it. What you say is very much true- the problem arises when things are not done as they should be - when personal preferences come up before the rule.
Google is hoarding the SEM and making us bow down to them and their every move! Its horrible, but what can you do.... Google is the #1 SE so me must do as they please of suffer the loss in traffic
The problem seems to be the volume of reviews that google have. Play with fire and you get burnt. Don't expect to jump the review queue, google are very busy.
eeeeewwwww !!!! That discussion makes me sick, especially Matt Cutts trying to pretend he's some sort of "nice guy" when he's really a neo-fascist.
Google is an effective monopoly, and, in my non-lawyer opinion, abusing that monopoly power in many aspects of internet operations. One ought not do as asked in the OP. Nor be what would generally be considered black hat. But Google is far from the final word on ethics and best practices. My hope is they will face the sort of legal investigation that Microsoft "enjoyed" at the hands of many State AGs. Efforts by the private sector to get Google to act in a manner consistent with their oft stated "Do No Harm" mantra have thus far failed. No fan of big government, I'm afraid that is the only solution for Google's abusive conduct.
agreed, we are all slaves to Google They swept the search engine world with the most relevent search, a simple to remember url, a simple page design and what else?
Maybe Google Hosting, then they make our site has to be hosted on their servers or we won't be indexed.
haha, kiss Googles ass? Yeah right...never. Google is not god. Google is not my mama. Google is well...Google.
Unless you call following Googles tos kissing googles ass, I will never (and never have) kiss googles ass. I envy them, and use them just for some money, period. (if u have something to say, plz pm, not subscribing).
