Diamond Information website before buying online

What do you think of my website, Clarity of Diamonds?

The goal of the site is to explain various concepts in diamonds to the layman looking to buy diamonds online but confounded and confused by the jargon, and not knowing what is important and what is not.

In addition, I make a daily recommendation of a diamond or diamond jewelry item for purchase.

Obviously the links in the recommendations and other pages to diamond merchants are affiliate marketing. I myself am not selling anything, but promoting purchasing off another website.

What do you think? How can I improve it to make it more attractive or trustworthy to the average person?

I'm not crazy about the header. I see what you're trying to do with the light bulb. But I'd rather see a really beautiful picture of a diamond ring (kind of like what's to the right in the ad). You could also make the header shorter so you have more content above the fold.

I'm confused by the mention of James Allen. Are people who are not familiar with the diamond jargon going to know who that is? I get that you're trying to direct them to that site but you might want to give some background into who the company is.

I 'm also not sure why you have the red text at the top. I would keep it all the same - black (easier to read). Your writing is good so I'd say you're off to a great start.

    Cheers,
    Sherri

Not crazy about this at all. Layout is really hard and everything is cluttered on to one page so far. Break it out and start putting in way more categories There are some great designers here that would be able to help you out.
