We have a dial-up connection in our home and I really hate how it performs, who wants it in the first place? I have been asking my mom to change it into broadband but she'd rather pick dial-up still... Too bad! :(

Could anyone let me envy more???

Use it enough and she'll get annoyed you're always hogging the phone line and might give in. Plus broadband prices have dropped a lot recently.

Went to the internet cafe' in earlier days, which had ISDN connection.
(That was about 7 years ago)

Been using ADSL at home since it came out in my city.

    So, yeah! never experienced dial-up.

I have been a dialup user up until last years May when we moved and I decided to get a broadbank connection 384kbps, not blazingly fast but still a heck of a lot better than dialup.

Dial up can't be called an internet connection imo. I have been using all kind of connections from 28kbps to 100mbps and wouldn't go back to dial up. Too bad in some places it's the only option to get connected.

It probably costs you more with Dialup as each time you connect, you have to pay for a phone call as well! That might convince her to switch to broadband if you hammer in that point to her.

I've never personally experienced what a dial-up connection is but my friend lots of years ago had one as it was the only way to access the internet for ordinary people. Now the broadband connections are just too cheap to stay on dial-up.

Still on dial-up? That's too bad. I can't imagine going back to dial-up. Save some money and go get that dsl connection already. Why expect your mother to pay for it? She's not the one using it, is she?
