I have created a forum site helpondiabetes dot com what more can be done to improve the site, making it more user friendly and bringing more traffic to it.

Positive suggestion will be highly appreciated.

The layout and design is not bad but I think the site would look better if you added
    a professional logo.

Thank you for your suggestion. I will soon be adding a logo to it a professional type.

    What more can be done?

Not crazy about the colors, but all in all, not only is it a good niche, but you have the basic principles of marketing...solve a problem.
A logo would be nice, or even a professional photo in the header.

I think it's a great idea, and you should see success with it.

I would put a shop of some sort, or astore selling diabetic supplies, and join an affiliate program that delivers supplies.

You should also offer some information for seniors on Medicaid.

    Dear hmansfield!

Could you be kind enough to tell me how and which affiliate to join?

    Thanks in advance.

I don't know that niche at all. I am a Market health affiliate and they have a Diabetes Herbal Supplement, but I think if you just do a simple Google search for "Diabetes Products, affiliate Programs" you should come up with a few.

Just read them over to see who seems credible, pay the best, (and on time)...and maybe even ask in the "affiliate" section of this forum for suggestions.

When all else fails, I am sure that Amazon sells testing supplies and such.
It just seems that the first step to building credibility is to offer help or solutions and you seem to be doing that...just don't over monetize.

colors in your site remind of russian flag.
turquoise greet my eyes, 1-2 tone darker maybe better than this.

I would say it needs more color. Make the adsense stand out a bit more because it looks like there's too many things going on at once. Also, I'm not a big fan of the register block following me downwards as I scroll, and it can get a bit annoying.
