dhtml popup window bleedthrough

I just created a dhtml popup window photo gallery and everything is working great except I am getting a "bleed-through" (for lack of the correct word) from the underlying window.

The "bleed-through" is coming from the "AdChoices" buttons on ads on the window underlying the dhtml popup window.

Not sure what to even call this and I have been searching for a solution with no results.

What do I need to do with the anchor tags to fix this problem? I tried messing with opacity with no luck.

I was thinking it might have something to do with the ZIndex, but I am not sure how to proceed.
