deviantART anyone?

    Hi :)

I am not currently a member of deviantART, however I found a PS Pattern that I would love to use in one of my designs, I cannot however find a contact email or anything for the designer, so the only option I have it to become a member so I can send them a message. Before I join I would like to know what is the difference between a free account and a premium account?

    Thanks in advance

    Dee

just get a free account to start, especially if you only plan on using if for messaging one artist.

I agree with innovati, a free account is the best way to start.

    Thanks :)

I set up a free account and sent a note to the designer and also posted on their page, so hopefully I will hear back from them.

    Thanks Again

The main difference is that if you pay you won't have to see any ads and you can load up to 120 thumbnails per page instead of I think it's 20. You really don't need to pay unless you are thinking of using devianart a lot.

I dont trust Deviant Art personally, I had an account on there, posted some of my artwork, a few months later i discovered it on when doing a Google search, someone else had taken it and posted a signature on the bottom of it,it happened more than once.

    I deleted my account.

well I bet you did not add watermarks to your artworks..... I always do and never had any problems, I also never upload the artworks in full quality or size

they weren't full quality and size, I was new to the whole online gallery thing and didn't think I'd have to add watermarks tbh, A newbish mistake I know but still... Watermark or not it still got taken and used by someone else.

of course it's nothing to be happy with .you could have told them to delete the images and ask a lawyer how to go on

If it leaked out onto the net once it'd be all over the place by that point, it wasn't worth the hassle.

For what you need, the free account is the only way to go. Don't pay unless you start using it daily and consider it a must have asset.

Yeh Free account is the best route I've been a member for many years now and haven't found a need to go with a paid sub.
