Okay, well, I was wondering if anyone here had any good tips for getting a decent paying php web development jobs. Steps to take etc.
Your question is kind of general but you can find some good articles here: http://www.sitepoint.com/cat/sell-your-services And I'm pretty sure there are some good threads on this here at DP too (I'm too lazy to dig for them right now).
Major problem I see in the development sector is that companies want more than one language. They simply do not offer a job as a PHP dev., they want you to know ASP too or Java etc.
I've had 2 jobs that only required php. A lot of small companies prefer to use php since it's free. The big companies would probably want you to know other languages as well like .NET or Java or something. If they require ASP, no big deal. ASP is very easy to learn once you know PHP even though it's not as good IMHO. Check out companies that focus on web design/development and web hosting instead of the large corporations.
Either one realy, I've been doing freelance work via this website. I was wondering because I need a way to pay for college. Freelance has been working quite well to make money.
would you mind sending me some references and examples of your work along with rates? We need php work from time to time and I am always looking for people. Not full time of course. Just freelance. Thank you.
You can PM me you reference work as well. I'm always looking for more code monkeys (It's o.k. I can say 'code monkeys' since I'm a reformed monkey myself)
lol, well, I'm already doing a project for Greg-J so I hope right now he can trust I can do the job Right now I'm pretty busy with the projects I have so I'm not looking for added work until after their completed but I'll be sure to announce it when I will be.
Just giving you a hard time kc3. So far I'm quite pleased with your work Ken. Although I haven't seen anything yet, I know you're working diligently to finish. Cheers.
