    Hey,

I'm going to have a little bit of a moan, but it's only because I care! I've been a member at DP for over 5 years now, and the development forums just seem so quiet. The only threads that are active are just full of spam posts (people just saying the same thing as the guy above them) from topics which are really old. The quality of posts within the forums has dropped dramatically and it seems people are determined to raise their post count and not actually contribute to the topic.

I'm not really sure what can be done, but I think the mods could clear out the spam posts and warn or ban where appropriate.

Sorry for the moan, but it's really bugging me and I feel I may have to move to another web forum :(

Hope I'm not going a bit off topic here...but something I've often wondered about. Exactly what is the benefit of raising ones post count, what would one possibly gain from this?

In the misguided belief that if they have a high post count next to their username it makes them look more credible.

I am agree with you. Some of them even think they were unable to post in specific sections because they need to have certain number of posts. It seems they were reading 'old magical book' which is no longer works. :D
For OP: I see there are lots of new posts in several threads which is 'just plain opinion'. I think Mods already aware of it. Lately I see lots of members being banned from this forum. It seem Mods already worked hard. I wouldn't comment too much on it. Only Mods and staff could bring you solution.
I would only suggest you to 'ignore' them completely or 'report the post'. Living in forum is not easy. We have to deal with various people with unique characteristic. If god give me power, I would 'wipe all spam posts' from this board. However, it is nice to learn from what we see in this forum. I have seen many useless posts and that make me believe if writing 'bad posts' just like what they did would make me look bad. I thank them for teaching me 'to avoid what they did'.
I remember an old member ever said: "reading spam posts all the times would turn me into 'foolish' just like them". While it could be true, sometimes spam posts make us smile:D. However if anyone ask me: "What should we do if we encounter spam posts in some threads?". I would just report it to mods by using 'report' button in the bottom of their posts. I believe Mods already have 'secret methods' to overcome the situation.

Best thing to do is use the Report option when you come across them.
