I have a site up and most of the traffic I get is coming from one of the inner pages. How do I get the inner page to rank better ? I am planning on writing articles related to the information on that page, if I added deep links to the article would that help ? The same for directories?
Get external links to the inner page. I would also check you internal links and make sure they are set to the keyword you are targeting. Good luck.
You might want to try to bulk up on some of your topics and try putting them into some of the less popular Wikipedia pages. It can work a treat.
Well I placed some articles last week to the major article directories and I havent seen any movement yet. I want to do this without getting spammy, so I am wondering if replying to blogs would be any good?
Getting deep links to pages you want to rank well is the way to go. Buying links to inner pages is good. Paid directories often allow deep links. Look for directories (shameless plug: like mine ) that allow deep linking. You can also use the DigiXmas directory submission software (http://www.digixmas.com) and try submitting your deep links to a bunch of free directories. You'll get a lot of rejections, but some will approve your link. Adding a deep link or two to your articles will help a lot too. I wouldn't only submit your articles to the major article directories though. I have a free utility available called Article Distributor that will submit your article to a few hundred article directories. You can get it at http://www.after5webdesign.com/software.html. Getting some authortative links from places like wikipedia is excellent...if you can find a place for it AND make it stick.
