Developing Travel Websites?

Is there anyone who would like to offer a bit of advice as to how to start a general travel/tourism guide for specific cities/countries?

I'm thinking about setting up a few websites that are each centered on a city and provide information as to lodging, attractions, dining, etc...

Anyone know how tough the competition is in the travel niche?

I was actually thinking about forming a sort of network of sites that focused on specific cities, like Tokyo, Las Vegas, etc...

I guess some people misunderstood me, but what I was trying to ask is basically, How tough it is to earn a profit in the travel niche today? (generally)

A living can be made with Adsense and affiliates assuming you can get your sites well up on the search engines. To do this your sites need to be original and informative.
