Hello there, I'm not exactly sure if this is the right website for me to be asking around in... but there's no bad question, right? I am developing two websites right now, one focused primarily on the aviation community, and the other focused on online classifieds. Both are pretty solid ideas, and based off of market research (paper surveys, feedback, and interviews), both have a high demand. In theory, if all goes to plan, they will be good revenue builders. So here's my question, well, my problem really. I don't know much about SEO and internet marketing. I know a lot of the "ads" out there never get clicked on, and a lot of it is via word of mouth and other mediums. To be honest, I really don't want to spend a ton of time researching how to develop a marketing campaign, past spending a few thousand on radio and maybe some cable ads. I do, very much so, want to advertise online, and I'd like it to be a bulk of my overall campaign, but I just don't have the time or drive to do it. So how do I hire a good marketer? What do I look for in one? What is a reasonable cost for something like this? I am considering adding a $10 per referral option to the classifieds site, is it realistic for this to get picked up by the referral-masters and have them drive traffic for me? I know there's a ton of options and countless ways to generate traffic, I just need help getting the ball rolling, and would be willing to work with someone on this, and pay them fairly. I just wanna make sure I'm not getting ripped off, some of these sites out there seem way overpriced, and it appears that their quality of service is questionable.... So that's why I've come here to ask real people on the matter. Any help would be greatly appriciated... and feel free to PM me for more information. Also, I am looking for a webdesigner who is experienced in CSS and XHTML to design the layout for the classifides site, shouldn't be a huge project, and I'm willing to pay fairly. Most of the SSL is completed, I just need to work with someone and go through to make it attractive to end-users. I'm naturally terrible at webdesign. lol. Thanks, Spencer
I would suggest utilizing the search feature on this forum. This question has been asked many times and there are some really great answers. For now, I would say posting a lot in CL CR****LI*T would benefit you with some good geotargeting.
If you have budget, you can always rent a freelancer from freelance site. I usually use them for a low budget...and some of them even good marketer
Spencer, I believe when you say you are looking for a good marketer that means you're looking for someone to truly consult with you and your business needs and be in-tune with your long-term outlook...not just someone that's going to perform a few services and treat you like a number. It also sounds like you are looking for someone multi-talented that can handle the web design aspects of the business itself.
