I just refurbished my website the Dev Network which is a Developer and IT community website. Please review it point out any comments, criticism, bugs, and flaws thanks!
I LOVE the design! It's all very clean and looks fantastic. Well done with that. I'd like to see better ad placement though. Try adding a square ad unit in the first few paragraphs of the articles so that the text wraps around it. You'll receive a much better CTR and will ultimately (obviously) receive more revenue. I also think you should integrate the forum within the site's design. I strongly believe doing so will encourage forum participation, especially when you've got a design as eye-pleasing as yours. All the best, Liam
thanks for the comments, I tried meddling around with the ads, but I think I'll leave it there for now. For the forums, I was considering it, but it may cost extra $$ for the integration.
Hello Ratman2050. I had a chance to go through your site this evening. MY THOUGHTS Logo & Header I like the simplicity. I think the logo text should be enlarged slightly. Template Over all template design is a good choice. Navigation You have many links that are not complete. You have many links that go to a forum... I would recommend that you have it so that your forum opens within your template... and you can use your template to have a Login, Logout and Registration function that will work with the forum also... I found it very confusing when I went into the forum and was taken away from the main template... disappointed because all the great design disappeared... and confused... and curious if I was in the same website.. Content You need some help with content. Your information is great but it needs to checked over for spelling, grammar and clarity... plus it needs to be categorized properly.. instead of one big story... Syndication I love the style of the syndication Interviews I like the interviews section but I think that it would be good to include a picture of those being interviewed. Conclusion Your site is a good idea... but I feel it needs the full integration work with the forum, plus the content touch ups and ensuring all links are working... For this review I used FireFox 2.0.0.7 on PClinuxOS. I hope this helps. Respectfully. Lhlalyam
looks great to me... the color combination is perfect.. nice and clean layout.. just your post is too long.. try to make it simple or use point form.. to make it more interesting for readers...
Thanks for the reviews, some of the links don't work because they haven't been coded yet, and for the forums, I have spent around 500-600$ on this site and am running to my last budget, I am trying to make an ROI on this website but so far nothings been happening, I can't tell whether I should or should not have the template work with the forums, and if it is around 50-60$ job I probably will modify it that way.
Looks good to me! I was going to mention that the table of contents could link to the specific topics but you probably haven't gotten there yet! Lots of good info though! Good luck!
