Well i can tell ya that what happened last updat was a depreciation of the web meaning ALL sites NOT just directories lost rank as i viewed .Gov as well as .edu sites drop 1 level as so to say that it was just directories is incorrect. The grey bar issue is a new filter IMHO and nothing more done by google to deprive sites from sucking inner PR or a filter in other words when they have sitewides listed so as to curb the sitewide phenomenon that most wish to cling to. On the other hand maybe google just dont want to crawl inner pages that dont offer quality content.... i guess its a guessing game for now... thx malcolm
Has anyone considered a change of base for the logarithmic scale on which pagerank is supposedly based. It the base were changed it could effect everyone.
You are very correct Smyrl its very possible... your thoughts on exactly what happened would be enlightning as i thought a general deprecitaion of most would fall under this.. thx malcolm
It seems to me theoretically with a slight change of base in logarithm, that a high pagerank 5 might retain pagerank five but fall into category of a low pagerank 5.
ok so basically what your saying is that the BAR was raised to an extent? where certain sites that dint make the cutt dropped?
Yes, that is my thinking precisely. It may not be an accurate conclusion but that is what I suspect happened. The next pagerank update will be interesting. If sights regain lost PR in the next update will have to rethink this position.
so why didnt ya say that from the gate... hehhehehe I agree that very well could be what happened thx malcolm
Yes and Smyrl is like Col. Samantha Carter (Stargate SG-1) or Dana Scully ( X-Files). Thanks Your Uncle Popo
Well I have been doing massive really deep link for a long time now, with great results. I think the deep link ratio of a site is an important factor on Google algo.
