No doubt you've all seen the media hype of cheap Detroit property as a result of the current collapse in America and the likely bankruptcy of GM, etc, spelling another death knell for Detroit's primary industry. That said I have some questions particularly for anyone living in Detroit who can give an honest opinion. What is the crime rate in these $10,000 dwelling suburbs? Do they rent out? Are people leaving Detroit in droves hunting jobs elsewhere? What is the city like? Would you rent a house knowing it was owned by a foreign investor? What's the current unemployment rate?
