I just recently started running adsense on a few of my sites, so I'm a relative noob. My first day, I got quite a few clicks, (~30), but it totaled under $2). The next morning, I had one click worth roughly $2.60. My question is this: is there way to tell what keyword was triggered that caused such a valuable ad, and is are there any ways to optimize the site around more valuable keywords? Thanks
There is no direct way to find out which ad paid the $2.60. Otherwise publishers would probably do something, which they are not suppose to do: Optimize their site for the search engine instead of the human being. Also keep in mind: The clickprice for keywords varies depending on what advertizers bid and since localization might play a role in ad placement, there is a good chance, you'll never see the high paying ad yourself when viewing your website. The only way to get a remote idea of what keywords pay what would be to sign up for an Adwords account, but that will cost you $5 just to be able to see the bidding.
