i saw my site link here so i am replying ..

this mod is not a rip off ... most likely Saad is using the mod of http://www.linkforever.net/pld_mods.php... it is the link popularity mod.

Also the idea is not unique ... the original thing is like Directory Dump because no one can make such thing or atleast haven't seen one..


hope i made it clear ... i can't say if saad completely copied the page of Amit because i can't see gii.in (seems to be down) but by looking at the cache .. it looks very very similar ...

because Saad has everything the same way as gii.in in the same order ... except for the alexa preview ... but what can we do ??

the link popularity mod is not a rip off and nor the way he put it ....

u kno why if saad ripped off amit

than all of us rip each other off because our detail page shows the info: in a same order as almost everyone

Once again to finish some discussion on it.
All mods I write myself. Also link popularity.
Why it's encoded?
Because it's so popular script, can be used anywhere on PHP website. Giving uncrypted code I'm sure in short time my code would be available on some free scripts pages or even ripped and sold as not mine.
The mod I prapared for PhpLD and not for ripping!
Think many of my clients have no doubts about that as I give them really nice support. For some I did provide not encrypted version of LinkPopularity. For others I made some changes in code to suit to their needs.

I'm older than most of you here. I'm software developer for more than 10 years. I never ripped anyone's code. But of course as each programmer I have thousands of open-source code. And there is no better way to learn something new.

 

Excellent inspiration to create something unique.

I wont say it as a rip off but one thing is i worked a whole day on that thing trying to make a unique page and even called sunny for a small mess and some suggestions too as iam not much familier with php.Especially about using images/text links for the social bookmarking promotions and all.

And when everything was done (sunday) i see the same thing on linksholder with the same number of social bookmarking icons though i had more sb sites to add but didnt get good quality images, and i see the same number at saad's

I did this seeing an0n's details page @ uniqueness and thought to make it as unique i can and found that the whole credit takes by someone else

Anyway we should not make a issue from it but from now start thinking something unique like An0n does in his directory rather than using someone's idea's

If its not such a "unique" idea and has been "inspired" by an0n's details page - why not stop ranting and raving about it..

Webmasters are supposed to be helping each other make the Internet a better place rather than pointing fingers at each other...
