In an ad group, its is possible to set one Destination URL in the ad, and a different one for each (or all) keyword/s in the group. Anyone know why is this, and which one takes precedence??

I just posted a similar thread HERE. I suppose the benefit is if you have a large group of similar words and a couple landling pages you could put a user on. Maybe one landing page is more relevant than another...? I guess it ultimately depends on what kind of site you have to determine if its of any use.

Its like that for a variety of reasons and allows the advertisers to have the choice. If you are sending all keywords in an adgroup to one destination, then just use the ad level destination urls.

Keyword level destination urls take precedence over ad level urls. So if you wanted to trial sending one keyword elsewhere, simply slap in a individual url for that keyword.

There is another use of keyword urls.

If you want to get visibility into the content network, which currently does not show you what keywords are being triggered...

use the same url and at the end of it at &track=keyword1+keyword2&type=broad, and do that for every keyword in your list, then you will exactly know. Adding the tag can be easily done in excel.

This applies to people who really focus on the content network :) like me.
