    Hi All,

I'm new to the this whole SEO thing and need some advise about links. I have two links of the same product and was wondering which Google would like more. I think Google will like the first link the most, but I was wondering why? How important is it to keep a link short.

    Link 1:
    http://www.go-britain.nl/adidas-tracktop-adi-firebird-1-light-scarlet-white.html

    Link 2:
    http://www.frontrunner.nl/shoes/collectie/adidas/61/tops/track-jackets/205/618/adidas-firebird-track-top-red-2210-60-41.html

    Really appreciate the feedback.

    Thnx

Both are terribly ugly URLs. Too many unnecessary keywords and the second is very redundant. Stop thinking about search engines and start thinking about usability, duplicate content, and nav structure.

Go research top ranking competitor sites and see how they are categorizing products. Wondering what the maximum characters of an indexed page in Google is? Check this post out.

    Keep these point in mind

Make url easy to remember by visitors.
Do not link same item/content by 2 or more link as it will create duplicate content and Google never like it.
Keep url Short and do not stuff useless keyword, it will not help much.

The second URL is SO huge that google only shows the following when the URL shows up in results:

    www.frontrunner.nl/.../adidas-firebird-track-top-red-2210-60-41.html[/url]

You see, half of the URL is completely redundant.
    Code (markup):
