Hello, I have an issue and I'm hoping to get some completely unadultrated opinions on this design. Can anybody please tell me which version of this page they prefer,..and why? It is very much appreciated, thanks. I'll fill you in on the details after the experiment. http://www.mixposure.com/songa.php?songid=28231 http://www.mixposure.com/songb.php?songid=28231 Thanks again.
centered version is better, but in all honesty, the page is too busy and is difficult to determine what the site is about. You might want to clean it up a bit
I agree that the page is too busy with too much animation too. The Adsense placement at the top looks good though, well done. On my PC with my "regular" DSL connection, it takes time to load all the boxes and navigation. Maybe less graphic?
i like the 2nd version better but the first version provides more space for content. also in the centered version it looks like the left empty space is larger than the one on the right. i'd say balance that out and expand the size of the middle. personally i can do w/o the animation on the right of the dog. plus it's not a link and appears to serve no purpose. other than that looks great ! all the animations dont bother me.

Minimizing HTTP requests is key for web site optimization. * TOTAL_OBJECTS - Warning! The total number of objects on this page is 70 - consider reducing this to a more reasonable number. Combine, refine, and optimize your external objects. Replace graphic rollovers with CSS rollovers to speed display and minimize HTTP requests. * TOTAL_IMAGES - Warning! The total number of images on this page is 60 , consider reducing this to a more reasonable number. Combine, refine, and optimize your graphics. Replace graphic rollovers with CSS rollovers to speed display and minimize HTTP requests. * TOTAL_CSS - Congratulations, the total number of external CSS files on this page is 1 . Because external CSS files must be in the HEAD of your HTML document, they must load first before any BODY content displays. Although they are cached, CSS files slow down the initial display of your page. * TOTAL_MULTIM - Warning! The total number of external multimedia files on this page is 8 , consider reducing this to a more reasonable number. Combine, refine, and optimize your external files. Ideally you should have one (or even none) in your page. * TOTAL_SIZE - Warning! The total size of this page is 562890 bytes, which will load in 112.38 seconds on a 56Kbps modem. Consider reducing total page size to less than 30K to achieve sub eight second response times on 56K connections. Pages over 100K exceed most attention thresholds at 56Kbps, even with feedback. Consider contacting us about our optimization services. * HTML_SIZE - Caution. The total size of this HTML file is 41480 bytes, which is above 20K but below 100K. With a 10K ad and a logo this means that your page will load in over 8.6 seconds. Consider optimizing your HTML and eliminating unnecessary features. To give your users feedback, consider layering your page or using positioning to display useful content within the first two seconds. * IMAGES_SIZE - Warning! The total size of your images is 372034 bytes, which is over 30K. Consider optimizing your images for size, combining them, and replacing graphic rollovers with CSS. * CSS_SIZE - Congratulations, the total size of your external CSS is 3075 bytes, which is less than 4080 bytes. This will fit into three higher-speed TCP-IP packets. * MULTIM_SIZE - Warning! The total size of your external multimedia is 146301 bytes, which is over 20K. Consider optimizing your multimedia files for size, or replacing them with lower-bandwidth alternatives, or eliminating them altogether. Really need to size that page down... 112.38 seconds on a 56Kbps modem Neither site looks all that great, but I would prefer you went with the first one, but centered it. Try to cut down on all the clutter. Does the user reallly need every bit of information you're showing them? There is a lot of potential in this site, but try to tone down the graphics a bit. Good luck.
I cant load the second page, I get the following error message : Unknown column 'fpdw' in 'field list'
I can't see the second page also, Get the same error message as, hcole. But with the first one if looks okay.
Second page still not loading. First page reminds me of a control panel for an airplane, very busy and confusing.
