I put up a new site on an old Joomla site that was mod rewrite. I even deleted the Joomla database.

The new site is based on php and mode rewrite. The problem is the old pages are showing 200 and pointing back to index page of new site.

The old site though had links in a directory at such /product-page/page.html

The new site has no such directory. new site is site.com/pages.html Can anyone think of a fix?

There is no reason to change the locations in html code. Those pages no longer exist on my server. They were created by joomla sef componant but they no longer exist. The problem is my new site using same domain when bots come through still see the no longer existing pages as 200 instead of 404. Even worse even thought the old URL shows in browser it still points back to index page on new site. I fear this may be a problem if it continues.
Ne pages are also mod rewrite ...

    Anyone?
