I find working on desktops a lot better than on laptops...I like to place my keyboard in my lap keeping the screen a lot further away on the desk...

Only get a laptop if you need portability as they are considerably more expensive than desktops with the same specs.

    Before buying a laptop, buy a laptop-style keyboard ( it'll not be an easy task :D ).

Laptop advantage is the Portability. While Desktop speed is better . Might seem a weird but its my personal experience. ..

If you're going to get a laptop and use it for gaming ensure that you get a mousepad that can be switched off, cos i had some bad experiences on FPS games where i accidentally hit the mousepad and lost my aim... personally i'm a fan on desktops since ultimately they can be more powerful, but a laptop offers the entire portable site, and that opens up the idea of taking it to LAN parties with your friends too ^-^

From a work perspective. Laptops are great. You travel with it and everything is there(ei files, folders, etc) only down side is the screensize. 15inch is alright.. but cant compare to a 20inch desktop monitor :)

    though!

If u use ur pc for a long period of time ,then there can be the battery problem as most lappys have the discharge time of 6 hours max.

the only thing that lacks in a laptop is its screen size, you can increase to upto 20" i guess but you will loose portability... other than that i dont find any thing less in laptops compared to desktops.

    I'd recommend a 15" or 17" high-res-Display, if u look for digital space..

I suppose laptops can be plugged into an external display at work when you need more desktop space..

I use desktop today and it is good for me.
It is good if you use Laptop for you, but there are certain limitations created.
    1. You can not type fast as compared to desktop.
    2. You have to charge regular battery of laptop.
    3. It is costly in price.
    4. If have to use it without mouse which is very slow speed as compared with mouse speed.
