Designing My First Site

I have a plan for a site. However since I have never made any sites before, it is difficult for me to get started.

Mainly I want a site where I write articles. I will post daily articles, as well as blog posts. Later down the line I will have a video gallery and forum.

My main problem is trying to figure out how to make an article site with out it being a 100% blog. I think blogs are good if the site is simple, and can get away with 1 main page, but I want my site to have several important sections, not just a home page w/ the blog entries.

Mainly; I don't mind using word press for my site, as long as my home page does not look like a blog.

I am using this template btw:

    http://1-2-3-4.info/webtemplates/multiflex3/demo/

I would like the middle body (of the home page) to pull all my blog posts and article posts (from the other sections of the site), so that the user can see new submissions on the main page in real time.

I am not very good at html or any other language, so a;; the help would be appreciated.

I think the template you used is not HTML! it's XHTML an advanced version of HTML for editing XHTML you need to learning some basics of HTML firstly
