    Hello guys,

Im relatively new to making CMS applications. I dont know the right practices on making a CMS website (in this case wordpress)..

I understand the process of installing, editing the codes, adding plugins, etc..

my question is, what practices is the most recommended in making websites with wordpress (and any other CMS for that matter)? I have tried installing wordpress in to my wamp server and installed several plugins. everything worked well with my wamp.. I uploaded it to the server, changed the database configuration (wp-config.php).. the landing page works well but the links (pages, posts, etc) are not working.. it redirects to "localhost" which is in my computer. even if I type in the URL "domain.com/wp-admin" it brings me back to "localhost"..

any idea how to fix this? and is what im doing right? installing it in my wamp and importing it to the server?

    TIA

check on your database, check 'option' table, and see the url there. change it to current url

Download Notepad++ and open your .sql file. Then search for a localhost and replace it with your live URL.

If you are familiar with MySQL this can be also done in a phpMyAdmin.
